Lady golfer Gloria Mbagutta won the Stanbic Bank Monthly Mug – July Mug played on Saturday at Uganda Golf Club, Kitante.
Mbagutta, who won the Longest Drive Ladies prize during the Half Year (June) Mug at the same event, managed 65 nett to win herself a mug from Stanbic Bank Uganda.
In the Ladies Group A, Katy Kabenge was winner with 70 nett while Harriet Kitaka who was runner up with 71 nett. Olivier Musisi topped Ladies Group B with 76 nett while the Runner up was Annet Kiconco with 79 nett.
None of the ladies group winners and runners up in the Half Year (June) Mug managed to retain their positions during this month’s staging. In Men’s Group A, Hassan Kyemba was winner with 71 nett while Sam Zaramba had 74 nett to come second.
Charles Odere was the winner in Men’s Group B with 61 nett as Steve Chivore was the runner up with 72 nett. Odere is the only golfer to retain his position from the previous event. Last time out, he was again Men’s Group B winner with 69 nett.
With 67 nett, Peter Macharia emerged winner in men’s Group C with 67 nett. Anthony Ndegwa emerged runner up off 71 nett. The Monthly Mug is by Stanbic Bank alongside Lato Milk, Qatar Airways and Nation Media are co-sponsors with the grand finale always held in December.
