Sports Club Villa and Head Coach Morley Byekwaso have officially parted ways following a mutual agreement to terminate his contract, the club announced on Wednesday.
The decision, which takes effect immediately, was reached after constructive discussions between the club’s management and Coach Byekwaso. Both parties agreed that a mutual separation was in the best interest of the club’s future direction.
Coach Byekwaso departs after over two years of service at the helm of Uganda’s most successful football club, having served in various roles during his tenure at Villa Park.
The announcement comes just moments after Byekwaso was appointed Head Coach of the Uganda Cranes team that will participate in the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), signaling a new chapter in his coaching journey.
In a statement, the club expressed its gratitude to the former Uganda Cranes assistant coach for his dedication, professionalism, and efforts throughout his time at the club.
Speaking on the development, Sports Club Villa President Mr. Omar Ahmed Mandela said:
“We would like to thank Morley for his commitment and contribution to the Club. This was a mutual decision, reached respectfully, and we wish him nothing but the very best in his future coaching endeavours. He has done us proud.”
