John Musimenta made history as the first winner of the Pearl of Africa Golf Series at Uganda Golf Club in Kitante.
Despite a tough second round, he held off Sande Lulet from Jinja Club to claim the title.
Musimenta started strong with a 65 on day one, giving him a seven-shot lead. However, Friday proved challenging, with double bogeys and some missed opportunities bringing Lulet within two shots. Musimenta regained his composure, sinking six birdies to finish strong.
A missed 27-foot birdie putt on the final hole didn’t matter—he had done enough to secure victory.
For his efforts, Musimenta took home UGX 1.7 million, while Lulet earned UGX 1.2 million. Morris Ashaba finished third, winning UGX 900,000.
