JKL Lady Dolphins 52-78 win over Angels on Wednesday evening at the MTN Arena, Lugogo in Kampala means that they maintain their perfect run in the women’s division of the 2022 Tusker Lite National Basketball League (NBL) regular season.
The side are also the only team yet to drop points in both divisions (men and women) of the top tier league.
At Lugogo, it was an evenly shared last quarter between Lady Dolphins and Angels (16:16) but the biggest damage was done in the first quarter (18:8) by the former.
Former Nkumba Lady Marines star Brenda Ekone led Lady Dolphins to glory shooting 22 points, 10 rebounds and 1 assist. She was named Tusker Lite player of the game.
Other top performers for Lady Dolphins included Evelyn Nakiyinji with 13 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist.
In a losing effort, Stella Maris Lunkuse led angels with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 1 assist. Catherine Amusugut had 9 points, 1 rebound and 1 assist.
JKL Lady Dolphins lead the women’s regular season table with 24 points from 12 games whilst Angels are sixth on the 10-team table with 19 points off six wins from 13 outings.
Meanwhile, in the other game of the night, JKL Dolphins lost 47-68 against UPDF Tomahawks in the men’s division game.
David Okello was the standout player for the Tomahawks shooting 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists as UPDF seeks to finish on a high ahead of playoffs. He was named Tusker Lite player of the game.
