JKL Dolphins’ Brian Namake was the star of the weekend in the Tusker Lite National Basketball League (NBL) as he shot a tripple double during his side’s 70-77 win over Ndejje Angels on Sunday at the MTN Arena, Lugogo in Kampala.
Namake shot 13 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists and was named Tusker Lite player of the match.
Sunday’s victory was JKL Dolphins’ fourth this season after 10 games. They’re ninth on the regular season table with 14 points and are outside the playoffs spot.
Our Savior on the other hand are 10th on the 13-team table with 12 points from four wins and four losses.
Meanwhile, other top performers for JKL Dolphins on the night were; Mabor Kal with 24 points, 11 rebounds and 1 assist, Benfait Lola Manini with 17 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists, Jude Ochen with 15 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists including Mulual Dier with 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists.
In a losing effort, David Mayom led Ndejje Angels with 19 points, 18 rebounds and 3 assists. Cikom Monybai had 9 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists whilst another top performer was Hassan Sentamu with 9 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist.
It was double victory for JKL on Sunday as there ladies side JKL ladyy Dolphins who are the women’s division champions beat Miracle 95-59 to maintain their perfect run in the regular season.
The Tusker Lite National Basketball League returns midweek at Lugogo with the ladies night weekly edition. There will be two games on the card.
