Northern, West Nile regions plot for ARS national title

It is always a fun-filled outing at ARS regional championships

The Airtel Rising Stars (ARS) U17 Boys and Girls tournament 8th edition regional qualifiers climax this Sunday in Masindi with the Western and Kitara region.

The eight FUFA regions will each assemble their cream to compete at the national finals due September 4-7 at the StarTimes stadium, Lugogo.

After Koboko Boys and Simba Girls wining the regional championship last weekend at the Uganda technical institute (UTC) grounds in Lira, West Nile named a team of 22 girls and 26 boys who stood out in the regional action.

The Northern region, who also held their regional championship at the same venue, named a team of 30 girls and 30 boys for the national finals.

Amugu SS and Pece United won the regional Girls and Boys titles. The 2019 national ARS champions win among others a cash prize of Shs7m whilst the runners up win Shs5m.

There are also prizes for individual winners courtesy of the tournament exclusive sponsors Airtel-Uganda.
