Ahead of the 2022 Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally (POAUR) scheduled for 6-8th May, 2022, Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) has secured two more partners for the event.

Fire and Safety Appliances Limited and East African Chains Ltd are the new companies to partner with the event. This development was confirmed on Wednesday at the companies’ respective offices all located at Industrial Area in Kampala.

Fire and Safety Appliances Limited will be providing fire fighting equipment and personell throughout the event in order to ensure that crews and fans are safe in case of any uncertainties relating to their field.

“We are honored to be part of this great event. We have been part of the POAUR for a while now and we are always ready whenever needed,” Fire and Safety Appliances Limited General Manager Simon Lwanga said adding that; “we will ensure that this will be a successful event when it comes to the aspect of fire safety.”

“We have been in this field for a long time and we are set. We have all the equipment and personell for the job. We shall be working closely with the Uganda Police fire brigade,” Lwanga added.

Frank Kaheesi who is the Media Liaison officer for POAUR and also the head media Commision of FMU noted that in each and every rally safety is a priority hence having Fire and Safety Appliances Limited on board is a huge plus. He however urges fans to respect the calls from the safety officers.

Meanwhile, Ivan Omwony who is the Project Engineer at East Chains Ltd revealed that the company will be offering secretarial services and industrial equipment towards POAUR. He added that they delight in being part of the event.

This year’s rally will be based in Mukono and Lugazi; which are in the central region of Uganda.

Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally will count towards the FIA African Rally Championship and also the National Rally Championship.

By press time, 36 entries were confirmed. Organisers will allow a maximum number of forty-five (45) entries.
