Prosper Soccer Academy was officially launched on Saturday, 1st May 2021 at City High School in Kampala. The Academy was founded in 2019 and all its operations are molded around teaching the basic football skills and the nitty gritty of the game but considering the tender age bracket of the 4 to 17 year-olds.

Prosper Soccer Academy Director, Denis Namanya while speaking at the launch among others revealed that they have formally shifted base from an astro turf in Kyebando to the Lugogo-based City High pitch.

“Our motive is to nurture talent and we have the right people to manage the talents. At Prosper Academy, discipline is paramount and this covers aspects like religion and behavior on and off the pitch. We also help the kids who cannot afford education go to school by connecting them to schools,” Namanya said before thanking parents who have entrusted the academy with their kids.

Namanya added that they are planning to widen the academy wings and nurture talents beyond Kampala with the academy boasting of coaches like Ronald Ssali, Frank Mulindwa, Allan Nsubuga and Eric Kityo among others.

“We are going to ensure we nurture players for the national team. We are looking at European and other foreign clubs as well,” Namanya added.

Namanya also thanked Uganda Cranes duo of Moses Waiswa and Salim Jamal for their support rendered towards the project.
Registration for the academy that operates under Prosper Sports Agency is already ongoing at a sum of UGX 200,000, which also covers training kits.

Training sessions are held over the weekends (Saturday and Sunday) between 9 a.m to 11 a.m.
