KCB Bank Uganda has officially launched the second edition of the KCB East Africa Golf Tournament, which is set to tee off on 27 June 2026 at the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa in Kampala.

The regional competition, held under the theme “Roar on the Green,” is expected to bring together more than 180 golfers from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, reinforcing its position as one of East Africa’s growing sporting and networking platforms.

The tournament, organized in partnership with ICEA LION Insurance, Kenya Airways, CFAO, and Ruby Hospital, is open to golfers of all ages who hold a valid handicap and are registered with a CDH ID. Players will compete in four-ball teams, where the highest score on each hole contributes to the team’s overall performance, combining individual skill with coordinated team strategy.

The competition will be played under the Stableford format, a points-based system that rewards consistency and strategic play throughout the round. Participation is free of charge, apart from caddy fees, and golfers are not required to purchase any products or pay entry fees to take part.

Corporate partners play a central role in enhancing the tournament experience. ICEA LION Insurance, the official insurance partner, will showcase its Clubman’s Insurance, a specialist cover designed for golfers that provides protection of up to UGX 4 million for loss or damage to golfing equipment and personal effects during play, practice, or transit, as well as coverage for third-party property damage. Kenya Airways, the official airline partner, will award air tickets to the winning four-ball team, while CFAO will present a Hole-in-One prize featuring a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series. Ruby Hospital joins as the official wellness partner, contributing to the health and wellbeing aspect of the event.

Speaking at the launch, Noela Byuma, Head of Marketing and Communications at KCB Bank Uganda, said the “Roar on the Green” theme reflects the confidence and determination required to succeed both in sport and in business. She noted that the tournament provides a unique platform for building relationships, fostering meaningful connections, and bringing together people from diverse backgrounds across the region.

She also highlighted that beyond sport and networking, the initiative aligns with the bank’s sustainability agenda through its ongoing Go Green Campaign, which includes tree planting efforts aimed at promoting a greener and more sustainable future. Following the planting of 300 trees at Serena Kigo in the previous edition, the bank is working toward a broader target of planting 15,000 trees nationwide.

Tournament Coordinator Paul Kaheru described the event as a premier stage for regional pride and endurance, while Golf Director Theodor Van Rooyen emphasized that it showcases precision and teamwork, with Uganda’s top performers expected to qualify for the grand finale in Nairobi. Building on the success of its inaugural edition, which saw team “On the Money” win the overall title with 111 Stableford points, and individual winners Enoch Nuwagaba and Florence Namara topping the men’s and ladies’ categories respectively, this year’s tournament returns with heightened anticipation and competitive spirit.

The event will conclude on 27 June with activities at the 19th Hole, where an elegant All-White Party will be hosted for golfers, partners, and invited guests. Registration for the tournament will be done through an online portal provided by Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa.
