Stanbic Uganda Cup Final

Saturday, May 25

Proline vs Bright Stars, Masaka

FUFA has named referees to officiate the 2018/19 Stanbic Uganda Cup final as newly promoted Proline FC takes on Bright Stars this Saturday at Masaka recreational grounds.

Ali Sabila Chelengat will be the center referee. He will be assisted by Mark Ssonko and Issa Masembe respectively while William Oloya will be the fourth official and Amin Bbosa Nkono as the referees’ assessor.

Proline beat Wakiso Giants 1-0 on Saturday in the 2018/19 FUFA Big league final to clinch their first ever title in FUFA competitions and have a chance to complete a season double with Uganda Cup triumph against the Premier league side that is also at their maiden final of the competition.

Proline regrouped for training on Monday at StarTimes stadium, Lugogo and had closed sessions on Tuesday before returning to Lugogo this Wednesday and Thursday.

They will then depart for Masaka and will train at the recreational grounds on Friday.

“We are ready for the game and much motivated. The good thing we play without any pressure. We already exceeded our season target but we must accomplish whatever mission is ahead of us,” noted Proline Coach Shafik Bisaso.

The tactician says that seeing the club earn promotion automatically was the prime target but after the Big league title, they are now buoyed for more glory.

Proline beat Kyetume at the semi finals while Bright Stars ejected record 10-time champions Express to book a ticket to the final. Away from representing the country in the CAF Confederations Cup the subsequent season, the winner of the Stanbic-sponsored tournament takes home Shs40m while the runners up have Shs20m at stake.

KCCA won the trophy last season after a 1-0 at Vipers SC in the final.
