SC Villa registered an impressive win on Wednesday when they beat Mbarara City 3-0 at Bombo Military Barracks Grounds in one of the fixtures of matchday two of the 2020/21 StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) season.
SC Villa had all the work done in the first half with both sides later shooting blanks after the interval.
Derrick Ndahiro gave Villa a 21st minute lead from the spot. Later in the second half, he missed another spot kick that would have earned his side a 4-0 win.
However, Isaac Ogwang scored twice on his home debut. His stellar first half show earned him man of the match honors that was handed over to him by Uganda Cranes Coach Johnathan Mckinstry.
Villa are now third on the table with four points.
At Kavumba Recreation Center in Wakiso, UPDF scored five goals against newly promoted side Kitara FC.
UPDF’s Brian Kulamba netted a hat trick in the first half but Peter Lumolo pulled one back for Kitara, who struggled in the second half as the former added two more goals to seal a comprehensive 1-5 win on the road.
