The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has confirmed it will take legal action following a stunning decision by the Confederation of African Football to strip Senegal of their Africa Cup of Nations 2025 title and award it to Morocco.
In a move that has sent shockwaves across African football, CAF ruled that Senegal had effectively forfeited the final played in January — a match they originally won 1–0. The governing body has now recorded the result as a 3–0 victory in favour of the Morocco national football team, commonly known as the Atlas Lions.
Reacting swiftly, the FSF announced plans to challenge the ruling at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland.
“To defend its rights and the interests of Senegalese football, the Federation will initiate, as soon as possible, an appeal before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne,” the federation said in an official statement.
The FSF also emphasized its commitment to fairness and transparency, adding that it remains dedicated to “the values of integrity and sporting justice” and will continue to update the public as the case progresses.
