URA vs BUL, Namboole

URA FC will be looking to make it four consecutive wins when they host BUL FC this Friday at Namboole stadium in the rescheduled premier league fixture.

Sentamu (L) in action against SC Villa tthis season

The match was earlier scheduled for next Tuesday, but due to the stadium unavailability, it was moved to today. URA FC head Coach Sam Ssimbwa has confirmed that midfielder Siraje Sentamu is back and is likely to start today.

“Sentamu’s return will boost our midfield; we are happy,” noted Ssimbwa, whose side sits 4thon the log with 35 points from 22 games. Allan Munaba and Hudu Mulikyi are also back while Benjamin Nyakoojo, Allan Mugalu and Abudullah Nyanzi are still out injured. A win can level the Tax Collectors on 41 points with third placed Mbarara City that is not in action and also leapfrog the Ankole Lion with 2-goal margin victory. Fifth-placed BUL can also level on points with URA but have to grab a 7-goal margin victory to leapfrog the four-time champions. Meanwhile, the earlier scheduled fixture between leaders KCCA and second placed Vipers, also defending champions, at StarTimes stadium, Lugogo has been pulled back by a day. It was initially set for April 5th but now will be played on April 4. According to Uganda premier league (UPL) CEO Bernard Bainamani, the change is because of Crested Cranes home tie against Ethiopia at the same venue in the FIFA Women Olympics qualifiers on April 6. “The move is to allow the visiting team to train at the venue as per CAF Rules on Friday 5th April afternoon,” noted Bainamani.  Meanwhile, Maroons have been fined Shs1m over their ‘false’ allegations against Vipers SC in their league match last October. Maroons petitioned FUFA that Vipers second goal did not enter and that their goal was wrongly disallowed, -but failed to produce substantial evidence. Similarly, Ndejje University have also been fined with Shs1m after their fans threw objects on the pitch in home game against Vipers SC early this month. In the same way, SC Villa has also been fined Shs1m after their fans threw seats in the home game against Bright Stars last month at Namboole stadium.
