The Uganda men’s national basketball team, Silverbacks will begin their final preparations for the third window of the FIBA Africa World Cup Qualifiers with a residential training camp in Kigali.
The team is scheduled to depart on 20 June 2026 for the camp, which will run until 30 June 2026, as part of their build-up to the decisive qualification fixtures. Following the training period in Rwanda, the Silverbacks will travel to Luanda, where they will compete in the qualifiers from 2 to 5 July 2026.
Head coach Mandy Juruni has named a 12-player squad combining experience and emerging talent for both the training camp and the upcoming competition window.
The point guard unit includes Nike Sibande Dejur Jr, Fayed Baale, and Edrine Ekau. Shooting guards selected are Marvin Musiime-Kamali, Robinson Odoch Opong, and Blessed Phillip Mbogo. The small forwards are Peter Obleng, Deng Geu John, and Emmanuel Womala. The frontcourt rotation features Jonathan Komagum, Titus Lual Odeke, and Joel Paul Kayiira.
The technical bench will be led by head coach Mandy Juruni, assisted by Andrew Ssenyondwa Tendo and Ben Komakech. The team doctor is Vincent Etyang, while team management duties will be handled by Albert Ahabwe.
