Soroti Cricket Academy on Thursday announced that their U17 girls’ team has been invited to play a series of matches against the U17 Rwanda team.
The matches are scheduled to take place between 15th to 19th January 2024 in Kigali, Rwanda.

A team of 14 players and 3 officials has been named to represent the academy and country during the tournament.
This will be the Academy’s first overseas tour and the team is more than excited to expose the players to the International stage, allow them experience different cultures and traditions, provide a platform for players to network and build connections, build mental toughness and expose them to standards and demands of professional cricket.
The team checked into a residential camp on the 3rd of January 2024 at St. Mary Girls school in Madera, Soroti City preparing for this exciting opportunity, with dedicated training sessions focusing on all aspects of the game.
“We extend our gratitude to Uganda Cricket Association for the support and guidance towards the tour as well as Rwanda Cricket Association for extending the invitation and providing the platform for this exciting series,” the academy noted via a missive.
Soroti Cricket Academy is a leading cricket academy in Uganda that started in 2014 in Soroti Uganda and exists to empower the young people excel through the game of cricket. The academy works with 15 Primary Schools and 8 Secondary schools within Soroti and has 3 clubs participating in the national league. Over the years, 23 girls have represented Uganda at the senior and U19 Level with 9 in the squad that enabled Uganda qualify for the Global Qalifiers scheduled for April 2024.
