URA FC Coach Sam Ssimbwa has dedicated the Uganda premier league (UPL) Coach of the month award to his ailing mother Milly Nanteza Nakibige, who is at Butabika mental hospital. “I dedicate the award to my mum. She is everything to me and it is heart breaking that she lost her mental sense,” he noted. Ssimbwa was on Monday named the best coach of March alongside David Bagole, who was named the best player of the month. Ssimbwa, who took over the reign at URA this season, also believes that Kirinya Jinja SSS midfielder David Bagole can be a valuable addition to his squad despite having one of the best midfield set up in the premier league currently. “He is playing well and I have been following him. He has become more serious after the passing on of his brother Johnson Bagole and now he plays maturely. I think he lived in the shadow,” notes Ssimbwa, who beat Mike Mutebi (KCCA) and Wasswa Bbosa (Tooro United) to the gong. URA never lost in the three games played in March –winning twice against Paidha and Express respectively and drawing the other against BUL as they leapfrogged Mbarara City for third place after 25 games. With 10 wins, 13 draws and 3 losses, the Tax Collectors take on Bright Stars tomorrow in their next fixture. Meanwhile, Bagole beat midfielder Nicolas Kasozi (KCCA) and striker Cromwell Rwothomio (URA) to the best player award after his industrious March performance capped with two goals. The coach and player monthly awards come with a plaque and Shs1m respectively courtesy of Pilsner Lager. Wasswa Bbosa and Rashid Toha (Onduparaka) won the best coach and player of February award respectively. Meanwhile the StarTimes Uganda premier league returns this Tuesday with three fixtures on card. Leaders KCCA make a tricky trip to Zombo were they face bottom placed side Paidha Black Angels seeking to extend their lead at the summit to 7 points. After 25 games, KCCA lead the table with 53 points, 4 above second placed and reigning champions Vipers SC that visit 4th placed Mbarara City on Wednesday.
