SUPL Saturday Results:
Onduparaka 1-1 Express
Kyetume 1-1 Kitara
UPDF 3-0 Busoga

It was an interesting affair overall during the Saturday fixtures of matchday one of the 2020/21 StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) season.

Onduparaka FC held Express FC 1-1 at home while league debutants Kitara FC picked a point on the road against Kyetume FC but UPDF have gone top of the table after a 3-0 win against Busoga United.

At the Green Light Stadium in Arua, Express’ Frank Kalanda converted on the spot in the 11th after he was brought down by Mahdi Ajobe in the forbidden area.

After leading at halftime, Express dominated majority of the ball in the early stages of the second half.

However, onduparaka’s Livingston Kabong leveled matters in the 68th minute after Express skipper Enock Walusimbi was sent off for handling the ball deliberately in the box, Kabong made no mistake sending Mathias Muwanga the opposite way and was later named man of the match with the sides sharing spoils.

In the other match, league debutants Kitara had a bit of an impressive display against Kyetume when they fought back to pick a point on the road.
Shafiq Saaka drilled first blood but Brian Muruli Mayanja struck in the 15th minute to ensure that it ends level.

At Bombo military grounds, UPDF FC thrashed Busoga United 3-0 to go atop the league table.
Second half goals from Brian Kayanja, Brian Kalumba and an own goal from Douglas Muganga meant that UPDF becomes the second team to pick maximum points this season after KCCA’s 2-1 against Bright Stars on Thursday.
