In a thrilling finale to Uganda’s Tour of Sri Lanka, the Uganda men’s national cricket team, Cricket Cranes emerged victorious in the fifth and final match against Sri Lanka Army. With this win, Uganda secured a commendable series victory, winning two out of the five games played.

In a nail-biting encounter, Sri Lanka Army set a target of 125/8 in their allotted 20 overs. S. Manushka top-scored for the home team with 28 runs off 13 balls, closely followed by P. Thisara and G. Asela, who contributed 26 runs each. However, the Uganda XI bowlers put up a stellar performance, with D. Nakrani and J. Miyaji both claiming three wickets each, restricting Sri Lanka Army’s total.

Chasing a modest target, the Uganda XI faced some early hiccups but managed to reach the target with three wickets in hand and 3 balls to spare. RA Shah played a crucial knock of 36 runs off 32 balls, supported by A. Ramjani’s quickfire 27 off 16 deliveries. F. Achelam remained unbeaten on 10 runs, steering Uganda XI to victory.

R. Thenurathn and P. Seekkuge were the pick of the Sri Lanka Army bowlers, taking three and two wickets respectively, but their efforts were not enough to prevent Uganda XI from clinching the win.

With this triumph, Uganda XI concludes their playing fixtures in Sri Lanka on a high note, showcasing their potential ahead of the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in West Indies and USA. The team’s confidence will be boosted as they prepare to take on the world’s best in the prestigious tournament.
