The Uganda Cranes will depart early Sunday morning at 3 a.m. for their final AFCON 2025 qualifier against the Congo national team.
The match is scheduled for Tuesday, November 19, 2024, with the Cranes aiming to close their campaign on a high note.
Head coach Paul Put Joseph has named a 26-man squad, emphasizing the importance of securing a positive result away from home.
Ahead of their departure, the team participated in an indoor recovery session on Saturday to fine-tune their physical and mental preparation.
Captain Khalid Aucho expressed the team’s determination during a press briefing:
“We understand the importance of this game and are committed to giving our best to ensure we end the campaign on a high note.”
Current Standings
The Uganda Cranes currently hold second place in Group K with 10 points, just one point behind leaders South Africa.
Uganda had already secured their spot in the AFCON 2025 tournament on Thursday before facing South Africa on Friday.
