The Uganda Cranes have safely arrived in Morocco ahead of their two international friendly matches scheduled during the June 2026 FIFA international window.
The national team delegation travelled from Entebbe through Doha and Casablanca before reaching Marrakech, where preparations are set to begin for the upcoming encounters against Tanzania and Madagascar.
Upon arrival, Uganda Cranes Leader of Delegation Rogers Mulindwa confirmed that the journey was successful and revealed that the majority of the squad had already reported to camp.
“Almost 75 percent of the players are here, while a few others will be coming in. By tomorrow we shall have everybody in camp,” Mulindwa said.
The arrival marks the start of an important training camp for the Cranes as the technical team seeks to assess players, fine-tune tactical approaches and strengthen team cohesion ahead of future assignments.
The friendlies will provide an opportunity for the coaching staff to evaluate player performance and monitor progress among squad members who spend most of the year competing with their respective clubs.
Mulindwa emphasized the importance of such international windows, noting that they offer valuable opportunities to bring players together and gauge their readiness for upcoming competitions.
The Uganda Cranes are expected to hold training sessions in Marrakech before facing Tanzania on June 5, 2026. They will then take on Madagascar on June 8, 2026, with both matches scheduled to be played in the Moroccan city.
The two fixtures form part of Uganda’s preparations for a busy international calendar later this year, with the national team set to be involved in several important matches during the September, October and November FIFA windows.
