In preparation for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), the Government of Uganda, in partnership with the Confederation of African Football (CAF), has announced a streamlined visa policy to ensure a smooth entry process for all participants and visitors.
In a joint statement, authorities confirmed that entry visas for CHAN 2024 will be issued unconditionally, swiftly, and without restrictions to all individuals from visa-prone countries. This move is intended to support the seamless movement of teams, officials, media, and fans into the country ahead of the much-anticipated continental football tournament.
For nationals of countries that are exempt from visa requirements, Uganda guarantees unrestricted entry and exit throughout the tournament period.
The following 39 countries are on Uganda’s visa exemption list for CHAN 2024:
Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Botswana, Burundi, Comoros, Cyprus, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Fiji, Gambia, Ghana, Grenada, Hong Kong, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Malaysia, Malta, Mauritius, Mozambique, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Sudan, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Swaziland, Tonga, Trinidad & Tobago, United Republic of Tanzania, Vanuatu, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
With this initiative, Uganda reinforces its commitment to delivering a world-class tournament experience by eliminating bureaucratic barriers and promoting inclusivity and regional hospitality.
CHAN 2024 is set to bring together some of Africa’s best home-based football talent, and Uganda is positioning itself as a warm and welcoming host for players, officials, and fans from across the continent.
