Cricket Uganda has announced that Uganda will host the Easter Women’s T20 Cup from April 7 to 16, 2026, bringing together international teams for a high-level developmental tournament at Entebbe Cricket Oval.
The competition will feature Uganda’s senior women’s team, the Victoria Pearls, alongside Uganda A Women, with visiting sides Nepal Women and USA Women completing the lineup. All matches will be played in a non-T20 International format, meaning results will not impact ICC rankings.
According to Cricket Uganda, the Easter Cup is designed to provide valuable match exposure and competitive experience for emerging players and teams.
The tournament comes at a crucial time for both Nepal and the United States, who are using the series as preparation for the upcoming ICC Women’s Challenge Trophy scheduled to take place in Rwanda from April 12 to May 2.
The Rwanda event will mark the inaugural edition of the Women’s Challenge Trophy and is expected to feature several associate cricket nations, signaling a growing investment in women’s cricket development globally.
Cricket Uganda’s Head of High Performance and Pathways, Richard Okia, emphasized the importance of the tournament in strengthening Uganda’s squads.
“These Easter Women’s T20 matches against USA and Nepal are a perfect stage to test our teams at a high level,” Okia said. “For the Victoria Pearls, it’s about sharpening our edge and building winning momentum, while Uganda A Women gain invaluable exposure to fast-track their growth and confidence on the international stage.”
The tournament schedule includes a mix of fixtures between all four teams, with rest and training days built in. Matches will be played twice daily, offering fans a packed cricket calendar across the eight-day event.
Uganda’s captain Janet Mbabazi is expected to lead the Victoria Pearls as they look to capitalize on home advantage and build form ahead of future international assignments.
