Uganda Premier League
Tuesday Results
SC Villa 3-0 UPDF
KCCA 3-2 URA
Busoga United 2-1 Kitara
Mbarara City 2-1 Wakiso Giants
Bright Stars 1-0 Maroons

Muhammad Shaban was the hero as his winning goal enabled KCCA FC beat URA FC 3-2 in a Uganda Premier League (UPL) fixture played under the floodlights at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, Kampala.

On the other hand, Norman Namanya and Viane Ssekajugo slotted home for David Obua’s side who played a good game but couldn’t come atop.

Ssekajugo netted into his own net moments after giving David Obua’s side the lead and James Begisa short chested back pass was met by Shaban who pounced to net the winner. Herbert Achayi was the one who made it 1-1 for the home side.

It was KCCA’s fourth win in succession after twice coming from down. The Kasasiro Boys have enjoyed a winning run having turned the tide following a sloppy start to the campaign.

KCCA move within a point of URA who sit 7th on the log with the Kasasiro in 9th position.

At Wankulukuku, Patrick Kakande grabbed a brace as SC Villa moved into third place with a 3-0 win over visiting UPDF.

The army side finished the game with ten men after an early red card to goalkeeper Yusuf Wasswa and skipper Bernard Muwanga turned Hakim Kiwanuka’s cross into his own net for the third goal.

Villa are on 25 points, seven behind leaders BUL who play Gaddafi on Wednesday.

At Kakyeeka, Henry Kitegenyi and Joseph Akwandanaho scored to give Mbarara City a 2-1 win over Wakiso Giants with Tom Masiko scoring a late consolation for the visitors.

Elsewhere, Busoga United stunned visiting Kitara with a 2-1 defeat at Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru.

Joseph Matata and Emmanuel Ajo scored for the hosts while Paul Mucureezi was just a consolation.

At Kavumba, Bright Stars edged Maroons 1-0 with Kokas Alou netting the winner despite an early penalty miss by Nelson Ssenkatuka.
