USPA set to honor ‘legendary’ Oduke

As the 2019 Nile Special-USPA (Uganda sports press association) awards gala due this Friday, April 5 gets closer, the USPA top Executive announced John Oduke as the winner of this year’s Legend Award. It is one of the awards that are decided by the Executive and President Patrick Kanyomozi believes that Oduke fully deserves it, having served the game diligently both as a player and coach. He will receive his award at the gala on due this Friday at Imperial Royale Hotel, Kampala. Born 1958, Oduke started playing tennis in 1968 before his first medal –Divisions singles 1975. He is the record winner of Uganda tennis Open title and 3-time USPA tennis player of the year. Oduke was is also a former top seed (1982-2002) and four-time Davis team captain before retiring to full-time coaching and officiating in 2002.
