Kasana Secondary school have continued with celebrations for the second successive month after being named the Uganda sports press association (USPA) best of April.

The Luwero-based school beat KCCA FC and Rally driver Ponsiano Lwakataka to the monthly accolade after clinching the 2019 Uganda boxing federation (UBF) National schools title on their first time of asking.

Debuting in a boxing competition, Kasana SS beat 25 schools including boxing power house Kololo SS and 2018 champions Bweyogerere SS to win both the girls and boys events with 31 and 44 points respectively.

Kasana got 275 points while KCCA and Lwataka came second and third respectively with 265 and 225 points respectively during UPSA’s (May) monthly sitting at Imperial royal hotel, Kampala on Monday.

KCCA got the point they wanted off Ndejje University to clinch the Premier league in April despite being crowned champions this month while Ponsiano Lwakata came from prison to win the Southern motor club (SMC) rally in Masaka –a result that put him 4th in NRC rankings with 160 points behind leaders Ronald Ssebuguzi (240), Hassan Alwi (180) and Jas Mangat (160) respectively.

USPA also lauded Nemostars volleyball club (men) for their performance at the 2019 African championship last month. The 5-time national champions finished 6th to record Uganda’s best ever placements at the continental club competition since VVC, who have the best Uganda female placement finished 7th in 2014.
