USSSA Elite Games: Kawempe Muslim fearless and unstoppable, hosts struggle in front of goal

The second day of the Elite games in Jinja saw competition in the Girls’ Football category rise as gold is clearly in sight than ever before. Meanwhile, most encounters were won on fine margins and tight score lines as teams stood strong and were hesitant on full-force attacks.

Boni Consili Girl’s School had their title hopes dented on Friday early morning as Kawempe outclassed them thanks to a Shadia Nabirye brace.

The hosts Jinja SS suffered a second straight defeat as St. Noa Girls SS outclassed them with a whooping three goals. However, Jinja SS amended their woes by edging St Stephen SS Budondo courtesy of Gloria Mutesi’s second-half goals.

Jinja SS 0-3 St. Noa Girls SS

Round 4

Kawempe Muslim’s teen sensation Shadia Nabirye continued to show her goal prowess with skill and technique in front of the goal. She bagged 3 goals in two matches to steer her side into the driving seat for the coveted goal.

Heading into the final day of the Elite games on Saturday 27th Kawempe remains the only team unbeaten in the 4 games played so far. Their defensive solidity is something that cannot be overlooked as they have only conceded one goal which came against St. Noa Girls SS in the afternoon encounter.

The 5th edition of the Elite games climaxes on Saturday where Kawempe Muslim SS are the favorites to go home with gold.
