Title holders Vipers SC scored seven goals against MYDA FC during the Saturday afternoon fixture of the Uganda Premier League (UPL) played at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

The Kitende clash was the first league fixture of the year ever since UPL was halted in November last year due to the CHAN tournament.

Vipers debutant Yunus Ssentamu scored a brace within half an hour of play to put MYDA on the sword before he was denied a hatrick in the 35th minute by the visiting custodian Isaac Osiku.

Cesar Manzoki and Paul Mucureezi scored before the break to earn Vipers a 4-0 half time lead.

Mucureezi claimed his brace in the 59th minute of play after capitalizing on Manzoki’s cross.

Ibrahim Orit joined the party in the 89th minute with a nice finish to seal a comprehensive 7-0 victory against the league new comers.

The result implies Vipers climbs to third on the table off 10 points from four games while MYDA stay in 15th position with just a single point from five games.
