The second draw of the 2019 Formula I Pirelli promotion was held on Thursday morning at the City tyres headquarters on Sixth Street, Industrial area.

One of the two winners of the trip to The 2019 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix (GP) at the magnificent Yas Marina F1 circuit due November 28-December 2 was Hardware World boss Simon Sekankya, who is also the marketing director at the three-time Uganda champions Vipers SC.

When called, Sekankya sounded with delight despite being a well traveled businessman. “I am very delighted and this is a dream come true.In my hardware business, I use a lot of Pirelli tyres on my transporting vehicles and I have always urged my staff to fill the coupon whenever we change tyres,” noted Sekankya. Cheap General Hardware was the other winner for the fully paid trip and will have to choose the representative to travel and have a glance at the world’s best Formula one (F1) drivers.

The draw was graced by Pirelli’s Batha Eugene and Christopher Uanier. City Tyres marketing manager Herbert Bashasha said that the winners will be treated with VIP experience throughout and will be able to tour some of the attractions in Dubai.

The promotion started in June and will climax in early November and eight winners will travel. To enter the draw, one needs to buy four Pirelli tyres from the six City tyres outlets.

The draw was conducted on Thursday

Other winners include; Samuel Gira (Full service (City Oil), Julius Gaulira (50 litres of fuel) and Kemigisa Joselyn (Dinner for two at Cafe Javas).

The Organisers of the season-ending Formula One Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix released their schedule of on-track and off-track entertainment.

The festival atmosphere will last for five days, starting with Super Thursday, on November 28, and culminating in the following Monday’s 48th UAE National Day celebrations on December 2, providing a wide range of activities for F1 race fans as well as music lovers and families.

Meanwhile, championship leader Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes driver says he will not be favourite for any of the remaining six races this season.

Ferrari have won the past three races – and Charles Leclerc has scored the most points in the past five.

Hamilton heads into the Russian Grand Prix this weekend in Sochi with a 65-point championship lead over team-mate Valtteri Bottas. Leclerc is 96 points behind Hamilton, tied with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, with Vettel a further six adrift.

There is a maximum of 156 points available over the remaining races in Russia, Japan, Mexico, the USA, Brazil and Abu Dhabi.
