Vipers SC scored two questionable goals as they overcame SC Villa 2-0 in the second leg of their last 8 Uganda Cup ties on Wednesday.

The Venoms who conceded late to draw 1-1 at home in the first leg struck through Bobosi Byaruhanga and substitute Milton Kalisa.

Byaruhanga opened the scoring on 29 minutes off a free-kick that Villa left-back Derrick Ndahiro tried to clear off his line but was judged to have made his attempt after the ball had crossed the line.

The second came on 78 minutes as Kalisa rifled in from close range before his effort bounced off the bar before crossing the line and then out of the net. Villa protested and play was halted for seven minutes before it was restarted and the goal was counted.

The Jogoos who are having financial issues sat back in the opening exchanges but responded after going down 1-0.

However, Isaac Ogwang missed their best two chances to get back into the contest. First he could not sort his feet under pressure from Vipers goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya before shooting straight at the custodian while one-on-one.

The victory ensures Vipers progress to the semi finals 3-1 on aggregate while Villa bow out of the competition.

BUL FC who eliminated Proline FC on Monday are the other side already in the last four.
