Wakiso Giants will seek revenge against Kyetume when the two sides meet this Thursday in the FUFA Big League, Elgon group top of the table clash at the Kyabazinga stadium, Bugembe.

The two sides have met twice already this season; with no winner in normal time albeit Kyetume edging the Purple Sharks in penalty shootout during the Stanbic Uganda Cup quarterfinal clash at Nakisunga Ssaza grounds.

The reverse league fixture at Nakisunga ended in a 1-1 draw which puts the Bugembe fixture stakes higher.

On 32 points from 14 games, Elgon group leaders Wakiso Giants could open a nine-point gap over Kyetume with a victory, while a win for the visitors cuts the lead to just three.

Wakiso Giants skipper Feni Ali

Ibrahim Kirya, the hosting coach, admits it will be a very tough game against a very good side. “It’s a very tough game against a good side but the target remains to pick maximum points,” he told the club website.

Kirya welcomes back Hakim Ssenkumba and Norman Ogik will be without attackers Geoffrey Luutu (sick), Ashraf Ziraaba and Ali Magomu through injury.

The visitors coached by Ugandan legend Jackson Mayanja hope to rely on experienced Vincent Kayizzi, Robert Ssentongo and Owen Kasule for inspiration as they seek to shock Wakiso Giants with first league loss of the season at their own yard.

In other games, Amuka hosts Entebbe, Nebbi central travels to Kataka, Bukedea Town Council welcomes UPDF while JMC Hippos are at home against Doves All Stars.

In Rwenzori group, Kireka host Water, Kabale Sharp welcomes Kansai Plascon while Bumate United travels to Ntinda United.

After 14 games, Proline lead the Rwenzori group with 30 points, 1 ahead of second placed Kiboga Young and two above third placed Kansai Plascon that has played a game more.

The two group leaders qualify automatically to premier league while the third and fourth in each group goes for play-offs for the remaining slot.
