‎
‎Football fans across Uganda will be able to follow every match of the FIFA World Cup 2026 live on DStv, with broadcaster MultiChoice Uganda confirming full tournament coverage through its SuperSport channels.
‎
‎The 2026 edition, scheduled to run from 11th June to 19th July, will be the biggest FIFA World Cup in history, featuring 104 matches and an expanded tournament format. Ugandan audiences are also expected to closely follow the continent’s representatives, with 10 African nations set to participate, including Ghana, South Africa, Senegal, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
‎
‎According to the broadcaster, all matches will air live across various DStv packages, including Access, Family, Compact, Compact Plus and Premium. Coverage will be carried on dedicated SuperSport World Cup channels, with some existing sports channels temporarily re-branded during the tournament period to focus entirely on World Cup programming.
‎
‎DStv will provide dedicated SuperSport FIFA World Cup channels, ensuring football fans can follow every match live or on demand. During the tournament, popular sports channels will transform into dedicated World Cup hubs: SS Football Plus Africa (Channel 222) will become FIFA World Cup Central as a primary English match hub, SS EPL Africa(Channel 223) will become FIFA World Cup Extra as a secondary hub for concurrent matches, SS Football(Channel 225)  will become FIFA World Cup Pass as a 24/7 channel featuring documentaries and replays, SS La Liga Africa (Channel 224) will become  FIFA World Cup Swahili offering Swahili-language commentary. Plus, a bonus FIFA World Cup pop-up channel showcasing the best moments in World Cup history.
‎
‎The broadcaster said viewers will also have access to English and Swahili commentary, alongside match analysis, documentaries, replays and tournament magazine shows designed to provide additional insight into teams, players and host venues.
‎
‎Among the programmes lined up is Breakfast On SuperSport running Monday to Saturday with essential daily World Cup recap, Talking Tactics on Sundays offering in-depth analysis of formations, data and gameplay, The Link Up every second Friday with fan driven reactions, debates and social culture and Insights from America every Sunday with on ground reporting from host stadiums.
‎
‎Through the DStv Catch Up Experience fans will get full matches available on demand within 30 minutes of the final whistle, choose between mini-matches or extended highlights, easily search and sort content by team, group, or match day. Plus, access exclusive digital bonus content, including uncut player and coach interviews, live press conferences, fan reaction videos from African fan zones, and bite-sized social clips.
‎
‎DStv’s streaming platform will also allow subscribers to watch matches live on mobile devices, tablets and smart TVs through the DStv Stream app. The app will allow fans to watch live World Cup matches on their phones, tablets, or smart TVs, catch up on full replays instantly and stream curated tournament highlights on demand wherever, whenever as long as they have an internet connection.
‎
‎The expanded tournament is expected to attract one of the largest global television audiences in football history, with broadcasters increasingly investing in multi-platform coverage to meet changing viewing habits among audiences across Africa and beyond.
