UCA National Premier League
Patidar – 62/10 (21.3 /48 ov)
Wanderers – 63/8 (22.3 /48 ov)

In a dazzling display of bowling brilliance, Muhammad Shaff proved to be the star of the show as Wanderers CC clinched their first seasonal victory following a 2-wicket win over Patidar in the 2024 UCA National Premier League on Sunday at the Entebbe cricket oval.

Patidar who won the toss and elected to bat were limited to 62 runs for the fall of 10 wickets in 21.3 /48 overs with Shaff doing most of the damage. He was named man of the match after his wicket spectacle.

Four Patidar players suffered golden ducks in their innings with Shaff being involved in three of them. He bowled Mayur HIrani, Rikesh Rabadiya with just one delivery. Bhupendra HIrani also suffered a duck after his ball was caught by Joseph Byaruhanga following Shaff’s delivery. Jignesh Kerai also suffered the same fate after he was bowled by David Karashani off one ball. Karashani also bowled Vikas Halai

Shaff’s other victims were; Deepesh HIrani, Rabadiya Ramji, Navin Pindoria and Bhupendra Pindoria.

Meanwhile, Sharif Sulaiman was the other player to pick a wicket. He bowled Rikesh Ashani who was the only Patidar player to post double figures (10 runs).

In their innings, Wanderers too had a slow start on the crease and it was eighth batter Ivan Kakende who turned the tide around. He posted 14 runs from 29 balls before he was caught by Rikesh Rabadiya following Kush Vekariya’s delivery. Kakende was the only Wanderers player to post double figures with Denis Musali (9 runs) being the other outstanding player.

Rabadiya Nautam Ramji (4 wickets) stood out for Patidar when his side was fielding but his individual brilliance couldn’t stop Wanderers from earning their first win of the season.

Wanderers are now fourth on the table with two points after two games. Patidar on the other end are winless in the division and are fifth while Tornado Bees are at the rock bottom also with zero wins. Nyakasura (4 points) lead the table followed by Kutchi Tigers (4 points). Ceylon Lions are third with two points.
