Striker Juliet Nalukenge believes Uganda U20 Women’s National Team still has the ability to bounce back and progress to the final round of the 2022 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.

Uganda lost 2-1 in the first leg at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende on Saturday last week but Nalukenge is optimistic they can go and win away in Accra.

“I still believe we can progress to the next round despite losing the first game,” said the lethal forward before adding, ” we committed some errors which affected us but we shall work on them and go into the return leg with belief.”

Nalukenge missed the first leg due to illness but she has since recovered and now part of the team.

The striker who plies her trade at Chrysomolia FC in Cyprus believes her return could be a of added value especially in search for goals.

“As a striker, my role is to score goals and what we need is to score goals in Ghana. I believe my addition gives the team boost and we shall work hard to make sure we get a good result.”

The return leg is slated for 4th February in Accra and the winner on aggregate between Uganda and Ghana will face either Ethiopia or Tanzania at the final qualifying phase.
