Apolot displays some of the belts recently

Uganda’s top female kick boxer Patricia Apolot has vowed to ‘finish off’ Kenyan opponent Joyce Awino in their African title fight rematch due this Saturday at Smiles Corner Hotel in Kireka, Kampala.

Apolot won the first clash in April by a knock out to retain her continental title and Awino could not stomach the defeat as she asked for a rematch.

The 7-round low kick style super light weight bout, sanctioned by both Uganda Kickboxing Federation (UKF) and World Kickboxing Federation (WKF), is Apolot’s 22nd professional fight.

The 27-year old, sponsored by Hima Cement, has previously won several domestic, regional, world and intercontinental titles –which makes her the pre-fight favorite this weekend.

Hence, odds are on Apolot to come good in Kireka and any upset from Awino is unlikely. “I have trained and am ready to give my fans celebrations,” vowed Apolot, who lauded Hima Cement for the support.

Hima Cement Marketing and Pricing Manager, Charles Mugasi said that the sponsorship of Apolot is intended to enable her perform to her best and inspire other young girls in Uganda to join kickboxing sport.

Apolot who has won 12 fights by knockout hails from the Eastern district of Ngora and started kickboxing in 2009 as an amateur.
