97th FUFA Ordinary General Assembly hands Magogo third term

Hon. Moses Magogo Hassim was on Saturday dully elected as the FUFA President for the next four years (2021-2025) during the federation’s 97th FUFA Ordinary General Assembly in Mbale City.

Magogo who is also a Member of Parliament for Budiope East, Buyende District was unopposed and was unanimously voted by acclamation by the 83 that attended the Assembly.

This is the third term for Magogo as FUFA President, having gone to the helm in 2013, serving the first term upto 2017 and then re elected for the second term.

In his acknowledgement speech, the new FUFA President indicated that the next four years will be about consolidating what has been achieved in the previous 8 years.

“Thank you yet again for another opportunity. It is an emotional moment knowing how far we have come. The next four years will definitely be about consolidating what we have achieved so far and igniting the next gear.” he said.

“The leadership at FUFA is driven by the desire to deliver football to all stakeholders irrespective of any prevailing situations. The past two terms of our administration have witnessed evolution of the game both on and off the field in terms of delivery at administrative, management and technical levels. History has been written and tears of joy have been witnessed.”

In the new term, FUFA President has set the target on taking the game to a new level through a trinity that looks at creating a professional football industry, achieving world class sporting excellence and extending football to each homestead.

“”Our strategic plan for the next four years dubbed ‘Consolidate and Take Off’ will see FUFA grow to the highest levels further in the Region and on the African Continent.”

At the same Assembly, the FUFA Executive Committee that will work with Magogo was also dully elected and ratified.

The new FUFA Executive Committee is as follows

Justus Mugisha – FUFA First Vice President

Darius Mugoye – FUFA Second Vice President

Hon. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi – FUFA Third Vice President

Rasul Ibrahim Ariga

Richard Ochom

Agnes Mugena

Sam Mpiima

Rogers Byamukama

Dr. Apollo Ahimbisibwe
