KCCA FC defeated KMKM FC at the on-going CECAFA Kagame Cup on Wednesday.

Herbert Achayi scored the only goal of the contest to hand Morley Byekwaso’s side their fiest points of the competition.

After a slow start, Achayi pounced onto a well threaded through ball to riffle past Nassor Abdulla in the KMKM goal.

From there, it was a cat and mouse game as both sides traded possession and chances.

Julius Poloto hit the post and Charles Lwanga headed wide, late in the game, as KCCA failed to score a second.

Despite a few nervous moments, including Denis Iguma’s goal-line clearance, the Kasasiro Boys held on to register three vital points.

KCCA now need to defeat Messanger Ngozi in their final group game, on Saturday, to book a spot in the semi finals.

The other group B game played on Thursday saw Azam FC beat Messanger Ngozi 1-0.

KCCA FC starting XI

Ali Mwirusi (GK), Musa Ramathan, Herbert Achayi, Peter Magambo, Denis Iguma, Gift Ali, Ashraf Mugume, Brian Majwega, Brian Aheebwa, Bright Anukani, Julius Poloto.
