Uganda has been drawn into Group K alongside South Africa, Congo Brazzaville, and neighboring South Sudan for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers. The draw, held on Thursday in Johannesburg, South Africa, was conducted by Ivory Coast Head Coach Emerse Faé and former Moroccan international Marouane Chamakh.
Placed in Pot 2 prior to the draw, Uganda was set to face teams from Pots 1, 3, and 4. South Africa was in Pot 1, while Congo and South Sudan were in Pots 3 and 4, respectively.
Uganda aims to return to the Africa Cup of Nations after missing the last two editions, with an eye on participating in the 2027 AFCON, which they will co-host with Tanzania and Kenya. The qualification matches will take place in September, October, and November of this year. The top two teams from each group, except the one containing hosts Morocco, will qualify for the final tournament.
