Athletics: Nyamahunge, Chesang shine at national trials

The 8th Uganda Athletics Federation  National Trials held on Saturday registered sparkling performances in 100m and 3000m at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

Jacent Nyamuhunge from Police Club qualified for the Algiers Africa Senior Championships crossing with 11.79 sec. to run deep inside  the 11.94 qualification mark.

The Policewoman marks the lone Ugandan athlete so far who has qualified in 100m event. She now joins the list of 14 women on continental card.

Enterprising Prisca Chesang from Uganda Wildlife  Authority Club was spot after recording 9:04.15 in 3000m to book a ticket for the World U-20 Championships. She also ran deep inside the 9:25.00  qualification mark.
