Basketball thrills as Secondary Schools enter Quarterfinals in 2024 Games

Excitement fills the air as secondary schools across Uganda reach the final bend of the basketball tournament at the ongoing Fresh Dairy Secondary School Games. With both girls and boys showcasing their skills on the courts, spectators are treated to a display of talent and determination.

In the round of 16 matches held recently, the action was intense, featuring dazzling dribbles, precise shooting, and impressive defensive plays. From close contests to dominant victories, the results determined the eight schools advancing to the quarterfinals in both categories.

Notable victories include St Mary’s Kitende’s commanding win over Nyakasura School with a score of 67-13, while St Noa Girls comfortably defeated Immaculate High 45-05. Buddo SS secured a convincing 45-21 victory over hosts Ndejje SS, showcasing their prowess on the court.

In a thrilling match, Mbogo Mixed edged past Janan School by a narrow margin of 30-28, securing their spot in the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, Seroma Christian High School, Naalya SS, and Kibuli SS also emerged victorious in their respective matches, advancing to the next stage of the competition.

On the boys’ side, defending champions Buddo SS continued their impressive run with a 42-30 win over Bethel Convenant College, while Amus College secured a thrilling 37-33 victory over St Cyprian High School Kyabakadde.

As the tournament progresses, anticipation builds for the quarterfinals and semifinals scheduled for Friday, followed by classification duels leading up to the grand finale on Saturday. With teams vying for glory, the competition promises to deliver more exhilarating moments and unforgettable matchups.
