Big League: Calvary beat Paidha, Terrazo concede late to draw against Kigezi

The FUFA Big League continued on Thursday with six games on Match-day six.

In West Nile, Calvary FC held on to beat Paidha Black Angels 2-1.

After a goalless first half l, Julius Malingumu opened the scoring on 30 minutes to had Calvary the lead after collecting from Omara Walter.

On 70 minutes, Julius Choka levelled matters for Paidha, dispatching a penalty.

With just seven minutes on the clock, Andama Junior restored Calvary’s lead, one that they would hold onto to register a victory that sees them move 3rd on the Elgon group standings with 10 points.

For Paidha, they remain winless this campaign and sit bottom of the log with just a single point.

At Kakyeka, Terrazo and Tile drew 1-1 with a spirited Kigezi Home Boyz side.

Peter Ssemanda had given the home side the lead on 70 minutes and they looked destined for all three points.

However, Denis Lubowa struck in injury-time to ensure the two sides shared the spoils.

Kigezi could have had a lead in the first half only for Bright Haguma to send an effort from the spot-kick wide of the target.

The draw sees Terrazo stay bottom of the Rwenzori group while Kigezi are 7th with six points.

In Arua, Alfred Leku and Ceaser Ochuti’s goals were not enough as Arua Hill drew 2-2 with 10-man Gaddafi FC.

Ochuti handed Arua Hill the lead during halftime before he was taken off injured.

Gaddafi restored parity on 27 minutes to see the two sides head into the break on level terms.

The visitors were then reduced to 10-men when Frank Mulimi was sent off for a second booking.

When Leku restored Arua’s lead on 72 minutes, the host looked to be on course to three points.

However Ronald Bithum levelled matters in the 90th minute to see the contest end in a draw.

Arua Hill moves joint top of the Rwenzori group, level on points (12) with Kataka FC who beat Maroons on Wednesday.

Gaddafi FC move to 10 points, level with Calvary FC who edged Paidha Black Angels.

Elsewhere, Black Power stunned Mbale Heroes 1-0 at the Mbale Municipal Stadium, Proline continued with their struggles as they drew 1-1 with Ndejje University at Lugogo while Luwero United lost 3-0 at home to promotion hopefuls Tooro United.

On Friday, Nyamityobora FC hosts Water FC in the final match-day six contest.
