Bright Stars beat BUL FC 3-0 on Friday at Kavumba recreational centre to move to safety in the Startimes Uganda Premier League 2021/22 season.

Bright Stars are now 12th in the 15-team table with 19 points whilst BUL who have had a better season so far remain in the fourth place with 33 points despite losing on the day.

Ibrahim Kasinde, Joseph Janjali and Jungu Methodius were on target earning Bright Stars an absolution with the season hitting its final bend.

Bright Stars were simply the better side throughout the match and as early as the seventh minute they had slotted home but Janjali’s effort was ruled out for being offside.

Albeit BUL’s attempts to avert the home side’s consistent advances in their area, the latter was hard to contain and the visitors would later concede a penalty which was slotted home by Ibrahim Kasinde to earn his side a 1-0 half time lead.

In the second half, Bright Stars continued from where they stopped and three minutes into the interval Joseph Janjali powered a long range shot from outside the area to hit the back of the net and double his side’s advantage.

Substitute Jungu Methodius who came in for Janjali sealed Bright Stars 3-0 win after capitalizing on Nelson Ssenkatuka’s cross with wasn’t dealt with by BUL’s backline bodies.

Bright Stars will seek to maintain their winning streak when they embark on a sojourn to West Nile to face Arua Hill SC in their next engagement.

In the other games played on Friday, relegation threatened Tooro United stunned log leaders Vipers SC after beating them 1-0 while Police FC held Busoga United to a goalless draw.
