The Visit Bukedea Rally that was initially slated for 10th – 125h March 2023 in Bukedea District has been postponed. This was confirmed by the event organizers on Friday at a press briefing held at Lake View Beach, Busabala.
Albeit pushing the event to 31st March – 2nd April, the organizers are positive that the event will be a success and the new window will help them iron out some issues between now and then.
“It’s a difficult decision we took due to unavoidable circumstances. Now that we have pushed the event forward, I believe this will enable deliver a very good rallying experience,” organizing committee chairman Kees Kagolo told media adding that the entry list is exciting.
The organizers will also conduct Corporate Social Responsibility activities in some of the health facilities in the area. This will be conducted together with the District Health Officer.
According to the organizers, local leaders in Bukedea have been engaged inorder to ensure that the fans and drivers are secure and safe.
The total distance of the rally will be 176.24km, that is; 140km competition distance and 36.24km for liaison.
The Bukedea outing which is code named ‘Visit Bukedea Rally 2023′ because of tourism reasons will see drivers traverse major sub-counties and towns/trading centers of the area. It’s also expected to benefit local who will be selling merchandise or any services to both participants and fans.
Organized by Eastern Motor Club, the event is also the second round of the National Rally Championship.
