The Uganda Premier League match day six wraps up today with two exciting fixtures lined up across Lugazi and Kampala.
In the early kick-off, Lugazi FC host Buhimba United Saints at the Lugazi Stadium in Najjembe, with both sides desperate to bounce back from disappointing runs. Lugazi are winless since their opening day triumph over Calvary FC and have since endured a difficult spell, losing and drawing twice — including a heavy 4-0 defeat to Kitara in their previous outing.
Buhimba United Saints, meanwhile, have suffered consecutive defeats, losing 3-0 to BUL away and then falling by the same scoreline at home to SC Villa. Despite the setback, Buhimba sit 6th on the table with 9 points, while Lugazi find themselves in 13th place with just 5 points. Both teams will be looking to reignite their campaigns and steer away from the bottom half of the table.
The day’s second encounter will see NEC FC host BUL FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, under the floodlights at 8pm. The game marks Badru Kaddu’s first match in charge of NEC, and the Bugolobi-based coach will be eager to begin his tenure on a high.
BUL head into the match unbeaten in 2025 and just two points off the summit, sitting 5th with 9 points. However, NEC have proven to be a tough opponent historically, as BUL have never beaten them in six previous meetings across all competitions — drawing four and losing twice.
A win for BUL tonight could see them leapfrog the top contenders to claim first place, while NEC, currently 11th with 5 points from four matches, could climb into the top seven with victory.
