The Confederation of African Football (CAF), in collaboration with the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), is set to launch the Safe Stadium Initiative Training Programme at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

The three-day event, running from November 19 to 21, will focus on standardizing safety and security practices across CAF Member Associations.

The training will be conducted by an expert panel of CAF and FIFA safety and security instructors, including Dr. Christian Emeruwa, CAF’s Head of Safety and Security, Ababacar Sene, Khakame Alan Chikanimr, and Katherina Steinberg.

Participants will include representatives from FUFA, local security agencies, and stadium management teams.

Key aspects of the workshop will involve practical simulations of emergency scenarios, risk assessment exercises, and access control management.

The overarching goal is to boost fan confidence, enhance professionalism, and align local practices with CAF and FIFA safety guidelines, ultimately improving match-day experiences.

The event will conclude with a certificate-awarding ceremony for participants, acknowledging their contribution to creating safer football environments.

The workshop will feature representatives from various football clubs, FUFA committees, and security agencies. Some notable participants include:

Bazawula Emmanuel (SC Villa)

Mukasa Hosea (BUL FC)

Kakaira Isma (URA FC)

Nakimbugwe Harriet (Kampala Queens FC)

Kacumu Stephen Kasharu (FUFA Safety and Security Committee)
