Uganda Sevens coach Tolbert Onyango has named an experienced squad for the World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series at the Markotter Stadium in Stellenboschfrom 20-22 April.
Allan Olango and Aaron Tukei are the only debutants on the team that have not played Challenger Series before. The former is set for his maiden national team appearance.
Philip Wokorach who is one of the most capped players is not in the squad for he is engaged with his team.
Uganda’s campaign starts with a game against Brazil at 11:28am EAT with the second game against Jamaica at 14:32pm.
The World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series 2023 was recently confirmed with two three-day tournaments including the women and men and will take place at Markotter Stadium in Stellenbosch, South Africa from 20-22 and 28-30 April 2023.
The Challenger Series provides a promotion pathway to the new Sevens World Series from the end of 2023 (with the new host venues still to be confirmed) in a new format.
