City Oilers have maintained their perfect streak in the 2021 Tusker Lite National Basketball League (NBL) season after posting a hard fought 80-90 win against UPDF Tomahawks on Saturday at the UCU courts in Mukono.

City Oilers, men’s NBL title holders and also seven straight time league winners had a bit slow start to the league and even had to win game one against debutants Nam Blazers through a board room decision after dropping maximum points in their first game, but have now seemingly found their winning energy back.

At UCU, Landry Ndikumana led the Oilers’ side, shooting 20 points and 6 rebounds. James Okello managed 14 points while Jimmy Enabu had 8 points and 6 assists.

Wilberforce Pirwoth led UPDF with 16 points and 2 assists. Moses Muhumuza shot 12 points while Douglas Kagambo was the other high scorer for Tomahawks with 9 points.

After 4 games, Oilers who condemned Tomahawks to their first league defeat now lead the men’s league with 8 points and are the only perfect team in the men’s league.

In the women’s league, title holders JKL Lady Dolphins beat hosts UCU Lady Canons 72-76 to win their third game of the season and also maintain their winning run.
