-Express FC 2-0 Police FC
-Kiatara FC 2-2 Busoga United
-SC Villa 0-0 Bright Stars CC
-BUL FC 1-1 Mbarara City (Abandoned in 60th minute)

Express FC took care of business as they defeated Police FC 2-0 at Wankulukuku on Saturday.

Eric Kambale netted the opening goal of the contest, pouncing on Police goalkeeper Derrick Ochan’s error to slot into an empty net.

The second came on 48 minutes as Godfrey Lwesibawa raced through on goal before his powerful shot was fumbled by Ochan and it found it’s way into the back of the net.

Police missed a penalty late in the contest with Ben Ocen’s effort saves by Mathais Muwanga after Duncan Sseninde was brought down in the area.

Substitute Frank Kalanda got two chances but sent his efforts over while in good scoring positions.

Police could have levelled matters before the break but Muwadda Mawejje headed wide while Sseninde’s cross-shot was cleared off the line by Isa Lumu.

Victory sees Express stay in 3rd with 44 points from 22 games while Police are still 5th with 37 points.

At Bombo, SC Villa were held to a goalless draw by Bright Stars FC.

The visitors cleared of the line thrice in the game with Andy Kyambadde heading Derrick Ndahiro’s corner clear and a goal-mouth scramble late in the contest allowing two last-ditch desperate tackles stop the ball from crossing the line.

The draw sees Villa and Bright Stars stay in 7th and 8th respectively with 32 and 34 points, from 22 games.

In Masindi, Kitara scored a late goal to ensure they walk away with a point of Busoga United.

Nathan Oloro scored in stoppage time to ensure Kitara earned a deserved point on the day.

Musa Doca had earlier netted for the hosts to level matters after Ismail Mugulusi opened the scoring from a direct free kick.

Ivan Wani’s second half strike that saw Busoga restore their lead looked like it would be the winner only for Oloro to equalise in injury-time.

The game was earlier delayed before kick-off due to a a heavy down pour in Masindi.

The result sees Busoga stay in 12th place with 25 points after 22 games played.

For Kitara, they are still bottom of the table, collecting just nine points.

At Bugembe, BUL FC’s match at home to Mbarara City FC was called off on Saturday afternoon due to heavy downpour.

The game that was level at 1-1 could not go ahead and it was halted in the 60th minute with the pitch flooded, hindering action to continue.

Jude Ssemugabi had earlier handed the visitors lead in the 20th minute, pouncing onto a lose ball in the area after Innocent Wafula cross was deflected by Walter Ochora.

Forward Richard Wandyaka levelled matters with a minute to the half time whistle, heading-in from a well delivered Robert Mukongotya cross.

The game is now slated to be resumed tomorrow (Sunday) at the Kyabazinga Stadium 11am.
