Cricket Uganda has suspended national player Pascal Murungi from all cricket-related activities for a period of three years following a disciplinary hearing that found him culpable of actions that compromised the integrity of the game.
In a statement released on December 19, 2025, the governing body confirmed that the decision followed the outcome of a Disciplinary Committee hearing held on December 18 at Lugogo. The committee ruled that Murungi engaged in conduct that either compromised or had the potential to compromise the integrity of cricket.
Cricket Uganda, formerly known as the Uganda Cricket Association (UCA), noted that investigations are still ongoing into other possible breaches of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code related to the case.
“The decision reflects our dedication to upholding integrity, protecting the reputation of the game, and reinforcing the standards expected of all participants,” the statement read.
The body reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the values of cricket and ensuring accountability at all levels of the sport. It also emphasized the importance of continuous education and sensitisation of players and other stakeholders on matters related to integrity in cricket.
