Keere Cricket Academy in Kumi, Uganda, is fast becoming a thriving hub for community cricket, thanks to recent support from Cricket Without Boundaries (CWB).
Over the past month, regular coaching visits have helped raise awareness and participation in the sport, with a particular focus on girls, who remain central to the academy’s development strategy.
Continued funding from CWB is expected to turn this momentum into lasting benefits for children and families across the Keere community.
The support from CWB will allow the academy to reach more schools and community groups, improve access to equipment and facilities, and provide consistent, high-quality coaching.
Inclusion remains a priority, with programs designed to increase girls’ participation, support vulnerable children, and train local coaches to ensure sustainable growth.
Over the next year, Keere Cricket Academy plans to introduce school-based mini-cricket competitions, structured hardball cricket in secondary schools, girls-only development sessions, and youth leadership pathways for aspiring coaches.
Cricket will also serve as a platform to promote education, health, gender equality, and other key social issues.
With CWB as a strategic partner, the academy is dedicated to fostering both the growth of cricket and positive social change in the community.
