Right wing back Julius Kizito has returned to FUFA Big League side Maroons FC ahead of the new local football season, the club has confirmed.
Kizito left the club in 2019 for loan spells with Mbale Heroes and Water FC (2020 season) respectively and in that time he got more playing time.
Kizito joined Maroons in 2017 competing for two back to back Uganda Premier League seasons before heading for the consecutive loan spells in 2019 following his side’s relegation to the second tier division then.
After completing his return, Kizito has lauded the club’s dugout who have always been there for him even when he was out on loan.
“A huge vote of thanks to the gaffer (Senfuma Mohammed) who had the belief in bringing me back making it so easy for me to settle and embed into the club this quick. He has helped me find my true self back on the pitch here at Maroons, I shall hopefully deliver to best of my abilities,” Kizito told the club website.
“In a special way, I also want to thank all the fans who supported me from the day I got back here,” Kizito added.
Kizito’s come back is anticipated to be a great boost to the team more especially in the right wing back position for the next years as per his running contract.
Kizito has officially resumed training at Luzira Prisons Stadium as Maroons seek promotion to the top tier division.
